When additional stability is needed for independent stance or steps, the unique Duo lock secures the SMO into the AFO in a low-profile design. The AFO can be configured to be semi-flexible or solid.

Beyond that, the Piro Duo design in general requires fewer adjustments due to bio-responsive design, durable straps and custom fit based on accurate model. However if adjustments are required, the device can be modified by grinding and thermoforming as any other SMOs.
Piro Flex is designed for a large range of sizes — from the smallest children up to those weighing 85 lbs. or with a foot length of 8". With Duo Flex, the removable reinforced SMO extends that range for children who need more support while still being low profile.
